If Cody Dean were to tell you where he works—at the Kentucky Children’s Hospital at UK HealthCare—you might guess that he’s a nurse, a doctor or an admin. But he’s none of those things. Cody is a Gaming and Technology Specialist, an academic way of saying “professional video game player,” and a kind of position that only a handful of other people in the country have. Cody spends his days building 3-D printed toys, watching movies and playing the latest version of Fortnite with children staying at the hospital.
